I've been reading the Pew Foundation's State of the Media report and found some interesting facts about local television:
1 Local television newscasts starting at 4:30 a.m. have become almost commonplace,
2. Almost every station in the country has a Facebook page;
3. TV websites beat local newspapers that have paywalls on their websites.
The result is a continuous need for information. While this means increased opportunities for coverage, it also means constant requests to flacks for updates.
